Little Otsu Pop-up shop at Reading Frenzy featuring APAK + Martine Workman

For the month of August local fine paper goods and publisher Little Otsu will be commandeering space at Reading Frenzy for an in-store pop-up shop! Featuring their complete line of books, calendars, journals, prints, stationery, and cards, plus the brand new Little Otsu’s Living Things No. 5!

Portland based APAK (husband and wife artist duo Ayumi & Aaron Piland from Portland) will show original art from their forthcoming Living Things Series book about mushrooms and Seattle artist and designer Martine Workman will present art inspired by her Little Otsu mini-book Water & Fall! Artists will be in attendance at the opening on Thurday, August 4th, 2011 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm! Plus 2012 APAK calendar and Ayumi’s new zine “The Gift” about her baby will be released!

Forget Me Not – Memento Mori Group Show

Forget Me Not is a Reading Frenzy tradition and this year we’re pleased to present the biggest one ever! Nearly two dozen local artists (and one from the UK!) who have created work honoring a dearly departed person, place or thing.

Join us for the first Thursday reception or come visit us any time in October. You’re also invited to bring small items (photos, artwork, tchotchkes, etc.) that represent your dearly departed to contribute to a public shrine.

Country Club — A Round-Up of Recent Paintings by Lori D. at Reading Frenzy

First Thursday Art Opening, June 3, 2010 6:00pm – 9:00pm

This show is a serious in-depth investigation in rural luxury living. Portland artist Lori D. has created hand-painted portraits of your country kin in their finest form and natural habitat.

Lori D. uses her hands to make paintings, animations, zines, films, quilts, gardens, miniature sweaters, and pies. She collected a BA in film/video from UCSD and an MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts. She currently works as a freelance illustrator & animator in addition to directing the Animation Department at the California State Summer School for the Arts.
