Description: Kate has been documenting her consumption since 2002. Kate’s zines go back until 2006 that show her daily drawings of stuff she buys. She will be drawing people’s favorite object, what they bought that day or a receipt in their wallet for FREE! First come first serve. Kate promises to draw until her hand cramps and a smile is on every face.

Opens: First Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 from 6pm – 9pm.

The exhibit will run through the month of July.

Description: Carye loves museums, and has been to as many as she knows about here in Portland, so for the last few months she has been revisiting all the museums and making on site illustrations to go in a little artist book/guide book that will be out in the public starting June 4 at an art opening at Reading Frenzy. She will also be selling lots of original Portland people & scenes illustrated postcards for the month of June at the same location.
Opening Time: 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Date: June 4, 2009 and will be up till the end of June

Roots to Fruits Zine

The Portland artist duo, APAK made a little limited edition zine “Roots to Fruits” for a group show “Story Motel” @ Owl & Lion Gallery in Edinburgh, Scotland. An exhibition of zines and multiple publishing.

Show Dates: 14th May – 12th June, 2009

The zine will be available at Grasshut, Together gallery, and Reading Frenzy shortly!

Description: Disappearing is a group art show featuring selected work from the to-be published book by the same name being put out by Thistle Press. The book “attempts to address the marvelous nature of some of the many things that are disappearing from the world.” Curated by Melody Owen and featuring work by: Aaron Henry, Alexandra Lakin, Carson Ellis, Cynthia Lahti, Cynthia Star, Donald Morgan, Jack Dingo Ryan, Julianna Bright, Jessyca Burke, Kristan Kennedy, Montana Maurice, Philip Cooper, Rudy Speerschneider, Vanessa Renwick, Zak Margolis.
