In conjunction with the Lessedra Art Gallery, Print Arts Northwest presents Contemporary Bulgarian Printmaking, a two-part exhibition that shows concurrently at the Basil Hallward Gallery at Powell’s City of Books (3/3 – 3/31) and the PAN Gallery at the Washington County Museum (3/17 – 4/16). Featuring the work of master printmakers, Contemporary Bulgarian Printmaking presents a broad survey of work with influences ranging from Soviet Constructivism to Orthodox Iconography and Eastern European Folk Art.

Presidential Ham Exhibit

Bijijoo presents The Presidential Ham, showcasing oil painting portraits of every U.S. president holding a ham. The portraits may be viewed together with character and physical information about each president at the following website: http://presidentialham.com/

In celebration of Presidents’ Day, the portraits will be exhibited during the entire month of February 2011 at the Basil Hallward Gallery upstairs in the Pearl Room of Powell’s City of Books (1005 W. Burnside, Portland, Oregon 97209).

The opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, February 3rd from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Attendees of the reception are strongly encouraged to wear presidential costumes. During the reception, Jason Kelley will operate a photobooth, hams will be presented, and DJ Alex Pasco will provide music.

The artist Camille Rose Garcia will be in attendance on Thursday the 11th, to discuss and sign her newly illustrated edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
