Description: After meeting more then a decade ago…. Larry Mills & J. Shea have combined forces to curate exhibits in Santa Barbara, San Francisco & Los Angeles. The two have also collaborated over the years to create mixed media artworks combining photography, collage, painting & found objects. Mill’s lonely photographic landscapes & cityscapes are often invaded by Shea’s religious iconography, punk rock sensibilities and ghostly figures. While Mills has been photographing live music performances in tiny clubs to big name venues for 15 years, Shea has been a rock poster artist for the legendary Fillmore auditorium in San Francisco for the past 13 years. Both artists have produced countless editorial work for numerous publications over the years, exhibit their personal art internationally and are original members of the infamous “Haley Collective” an artist collective formed in Southern California in the late 90′s.

Art Opening: First Thursday, July 2nd from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Show will be up until July 26, 2009.

Portland artists featured in the show are Apak and Le Merde and the following show will be Portlander Theo Ellsworth’s solo show called “Imaginary Friends” that’s opening on July 18th. Description: “Strange Bedfellows” is a very special show this month. 13 artists from Japan and 13 artists from Portland paired up to create 13 spectacular works of art. The Japanese crew received their panels first. After they finished, the panels were sent to the Americans for completion.
