Description: Creator of Hand Job + Over & Over, the books that changed the graphic design industry forever. They allow us to break free from expectations, from computer screens and from the “correct” way of doing things. These books are proof that the human touch, the imperfections, are valuable. They are proof that artists are wonderful designers and designers are wonderful artists.

Portland is a river city; many of us lay our eyes daily upon the mighty Willamette and Columbia rivers. Yet, deep below the city’s surface runs another river, one that few have heard of and even fewer have seen. It’s a mysterious body of water that some say has the power to heal the sick, to make the old young again, to give the impotent a boner. It’s a magical place known as Zine River.
Another well-kept secret: the IPRC has a secret passageway to this amazing river of creativity. Our fearless Membership Coordinator Lori D has been down there for months, paddling the Zine River on a homemade raft, seeking out underground artists and zinesters to take part in this special benefit art show. Join us for the opening reception on Friday June 26th at 7pm, and take your own wild ride down the Zine River.

Join Grass Hut as they take you on a wonder-filled discovery joy ride to the Bins, to feed wild nutria, to Elk Rock Island, to swim in the Willamette River (upstream from the poop), and to make art out of driftwood. Meet at the Gallery 811 e burnside, 12:30 sharp and earn a Grass Hut Camper patch!!! It’s all part of Pedalpalooza.

They will be firing up the BBQ for this one. They’ll have hotdogs and corn for the grill and dan their tea man will have some lovely teas made just for the show. Time and space inspired. And they’ll have some soda and beer too, but feel free to bring anything extra you want to throw on the grill.
The Portland artist duo, APAK made a little limited edition zine “Roots to Fruits” for a group show “Story Motel” @ Owl & Lion Gallery in Edinburgh, Scotland. An exhibition of zines and multiple publishing.
