Streetwise, a continuance of last months exploration of our very own Rose City, featuring Portland artist Chris Haberman in conjunction with p:ear youth artists, persists with new pieces and live music. Haberman’s interpretations escalate with originality, catching the eye with his confidence in color and dynamic use of space. Integrated with p:ear youth artists creates an epic infusion of perspective, strength, and perception striking curiosity as they give shape to every day life in Portland, Oregon.

p:ear youth are 15-24 year old homeless or transitional young people that attend the educational, artistic and recreational programs at p:ear. They work independently and with guest artists, working with available materials, to create work that is expressive, vibrant and healing.

Description: Chris has painted his interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland. All of the painted images are to be assembled into a reprint of the entire novel in the Fall of 2009.

Artist Reception: July 10th from 6pm – 9pm.
Mad Long Island Ice Tea Party – complete with UnBirthday Hats, Drink Me/Eat Me treats, bubbles and animal masks. All ages OK.
Show is up till August 1st, 2009.
