THIS

Dickbird is one of the most talented, productive and retarded “creatives” in Portland, Oregon. Every once in a while he does a coffee shop show that blows minds wide open. THIS is one of those shows.

If you go, remember to wear black and bring lots of cash.
Downtown Stumptown, 128 SW 3rd Ave. Portland, OR 97204
Opens August 6th, 6-8pm.

((( ZINE RIVER )))

Portland is a river city; many of us lay our eyes daily upon the mighty Willamette and Columbia rivers. Yet, deep below the city’s surface runs another river, one that few have heard of and even fewer have seen. It’s a mysterious body of water that some say has the power to heal the sick, to make the old young again, to give the impotent a boner. It’s a magical place known as Zine River.

Another well-kept secret: the IPRC has a secret passageway to this amazing river of creativity. Our fearless Membership Coordinator Lori D has been down there for months, paddling the Zine River on a homemade raft, seeking out underground artists and zinesters to take part in this special benefit art show. Join us for the opening reception on Friday June 26th at 7pm, and take your own wild ride down the Zine River.

*GREEN OREGON*

*Green Oregon*
June 4 – 27, 2009 at PNCA’s Manuel Izquierdo Gallery
Opening June 4, 6-9 PM

From green washing to Green Anarchy, to the timber industry to marijuana, green is everywhere in Oregon, including the art. Green is at the heart of some of the most important issues of our time and also the biggest cliches. By bringing together a diverse group of Oregon artists whose work relates to these issues in different ways, Green Oregon explores how various definitions of green interact with one another and what they have to say about us. *

*Green Oregon features work by Robert Adams, Bruce Conkle, Erik Geschke, Maria T. D. Inocencio, Marne Lucas, Justin “Scrappers” Morrison, TJ Norris, Ryan Pierce, Patrick Rock, Mark R. Smith, Bailey Winters and Christy Wyckoff. *
